New and Now!

I’ve been back from the mountain top for a little while now and have had some time to think. One of the things that has been evident to me over the past few weeks is that God is truly doing a new thing. Here’s the kicker, I thought I knew what new meant. It’s like when you have a pair of shoes you really like that’s worn out and you go out to the store and buy a new pair of the same or similar shoes. Or when you know your style in clothing and you go shopping, you begin to look for clothes that you have always liked. In this season God is really making everything new, He’s changing what we like, what we think and what is comfortable. At the end of 2008 everything in our lives will look totally different and we cannot image how God is going to move. An example is the experience that I have had with my passport since November 2007. I sent it in by mail for renewal. I waited a couple of months and then called to check the status of the “renewal” passport after I got a little bit nervous. I found out that my passport was not received at the passport office. After some further checking I was told I would have to get a “new” passport, the old one was lost. I made an appointment to go to the passport office to apply for my “new” passport. After applying, I want you to know that my passport was processed in record time. When I say record time, I mean record time. Praise God! I thought renewing the old passport was getting something new, because it would be valid for another ten years. Clearly, God wanted me to have a “new” passport, that’s the “new.” Finally, once I resigned myself to fact that I had to get a “new” passport, God made it happen miraculously fast, that’s the “now.”

Wow! key obedience.. The last line really spoke to me… Once we resign ourselves to following God’s game plan … no matter what he moves and brings in his will with ease…. Keep following his lead!
